Data sources

When the app names a roaster’s shop — on Similar’s and Explore’s cards or on a coffee’s page — its name, its address and its position come in part from open data, and so does part of the list of roasters the app knows; the distance shown is computed by our server from that position and your rounded position. These sources are credited here as their licences require:

• Names, addresses and coordinates of establishments in France: the Insee’s Sirene register, through the Recherche d’entreprises API, under the Licence Ouverte 2.0.
• Coordinates of the addresses roasters publish on their own sites: the Base Adresse Nationale, under the Licence Ouverte 2.0, and, where it has no answer, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License, through Komoot’s Photon geocoder.
• Coordinates of the addresses Canadian roasters publish on their own sites: Natural Resources Canada’s geolocation service — contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada.
• Part of the list of roasters, found among the places the Overture Maps Foundation publishes, under the CDLA Permissive 2.0 licence, including data © 2024 Foursquare Labs, Inc. (all rights reserved), under the Apache 2.0 licence (notice).
• Coordinates of the addresses American roasters publish on their own sites: the U.S. Census Bureau’s Geocoder, a work of the United States government in the public domain.
• Part of the list of Belgian roasters, found in the open data of the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (FPS Economy), reused under its terms of use.
• Coordinates of the addresses Dutch roasters publish on their own sites: PDOK’s Locatieserver, over the Kadaster’s Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen (BAG), under CC0.
• Coordinates of the addresses Spanish roasters publish on their own sites: the Instituto Geográfico Nacional’s CartoCiudad geocoder, credited as “CartoCiudad cedido por © Instituto Geográfico Nacional”, under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
• Part of the list of Mexican roasters, and the coordinates of their establishments, found in the Directorio Estadístico Nacional de Unidades Económicas (DENUE) of Mexico’s Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía, credited as “Fuente: INEGI, DENUE”, under its terms of free use.
• Part of the list of Brazilian roasters, and the addresses of their establishments, found in the open data of the Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica (CNPJ) of Brazil’s Receita Federal, under the Creative Commons Attribution licence.
